The 36-second video, recorded by an indoor monitoring camera, shows two dogs and a cat in the living room. In the footage, one dog begins to chew on the battery, leading to an explosion that ignites a fire in the home.

Thanks to the prompt response of the Tulsa Fire Department, the fire was quickly extinguished. Reports indicate that all pets in the household were able to escape without injury. “The outcome could have been much worse if there had been no means of escape or if the family was asleep at the time,” stated Andy Little, public information officer for the Tulsa Fire Department.

Little emphasized the hidden risks associated with lithium-ion batteries, which are commonly used for their compact energy storage capabilities. He noted that while these batteries are convenient for charging devices, improper handling can lead to serious incidents.
