Noida based Interarch Building Products Limited has announced acquiring two semiconductor related project for TATA . The first project involves the construction of a semiconductor manufacturing facility for TATA Semiconductor Assembly & Testing Pvt Limited in Jagiroad, Morigaon, Assam. Interarch has placed orders worth INR 221 Cr in the semiconductor and lithium-ion battery sectors. The company claims it as a part of India’s expanding semiconductor ecosystem.

India’s semiconductor industry is on the verge of significant growth, driven by government initiatives and rising demand for electronic devices. The government has approved substantial investments to develop semiconductor fabrication (fab) and assembly facilities, which are expected to create around 80,000 jobs. As of 2023, the Indian semiconductor market is valued at approximately USD 35.18 billion, with projections to reach USD 64 billion by 2026 and UAS 110 billion by 2030, reflecting a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of around 25 to percent. However, India currently imports about 95 percent of its semiconductors, primarily from countries like China, Taiwan, South Korea, and Singapore.

The second project focuses on building India’s largest lithium-ion battery manufacturing unit for Agratas Energy Storage Solutions Pvt. Ltd. in Sanand, Gujarat. This facility will support the growing energy storage market and contribute to the country’s transition towards sustainable energy solutions. This marks Interarch’s second order in the lithium-ion battery sector, following a previous collaboration with EXIDE ENERGY SOLUTIONS.

In both projects, Tata Projects Limited will serve as the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor. Arvind Nanda, Managing Director of Interarch Building Products Ltd., expressed the significance of this partnership. He stated, “The semiconductor and energy storage sectors are pivotal to India’s economic and technological future. Our flexible and industry-agnostic infrastructure solutions ensure efficiency, reliability, and sustainability in every project we undertake. These collaborations further reflect our commitment to driving innovation and growth across new-age industries.”

Earlier, in December, Interarch announced a strategic partnership with Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (JSPL) to promote the use of steel in multi-story buildings, data centers, and heavy structures. In September, the company opened phase 1 of its fifth Pre-engineered Steel Building (PEB) manufacturing facility at Attivaram, Andhra Pradesh, equipped with advanced technology for producing PEB structures and pre-engineered metal roofing and cladding systems.

Interarch Building Products Limited continues to play a significant role in advancing India’s infrastructure capabilities across key sectors, particularly as the country works towards reducing its dependency on semiconductor imports and enhancing local production capabilities.
