Exide Technologies, a provider of battery solutions for automotive and industrial applications, has announced the launch of its new Solition Material Handling battery. This battery utilizes advanced lithium iron phosphate technology, designed to improve reliability and safety while potentially reducing the total cost of ownership for material handling fleets.

The Solition battery is tailored for demanding applications, including forklifts, automated guided vehicles, ports, ground support equipment, and lifting platforms. Key benefits of lithium-ion technology include exceptional charging efficiency, an extended lifespan of up to 4,000 cycles in high discharge conditions, robust reliability, and a capacity that is approximately double that of conventional lead-acid batteries.

These features may lead to a lower total cost of ownership compared to lead-acid alternatives, particularly in the right applications. The battery boasts an ampere-hour charge efficiency of over 98%, allowing businesses to achieve energy savings and reduce their carbon footprint. Additionally, it integrates with energy recuperation systems to optimize energy usage and enhance operational efficiency.

The introduction of the Solition Material Handling battery aligns with Exide’s commitment to sustainable energy solutions. This product aims to lower operational costs and CO2 emissions, supporting the company’s ongoing efforts toward sustainability.

Magnus Ohlsson, Senior Business Director at Exide, stated: “We are excited to introduce the Solition Material Handling battery. Its performance, reliability, and sustainability make it the perfect choice for businesses seeking to enhance their productivity and reduce their environmental impact.”

Exide Technologies continues to focus on innovation and sustainability, striving to meet the evolving needs of its customers while contributing to a greener future.
